Jacobson Shares Outlook on Industry Trends and Compensation

September 13, 2016
CHICAGO – Growing industry disruption and low unemployment are contributing to a challenging insurance industry talent market. As a result, today’s organizations now face increased competition in engaging top talent. Greg Jacobson, co-chief executive officer of The Jacobson Group, will partner with Jeff Rieder, Head of Ward Group, a part of Aon Hewitt, a business unit of Aon plc (NYSE: AON), to explore the rise of industry disruption and its impact on talent recruitment at the 2016 National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) Annual Convention in Vancouver, B.C.

“Disruptors are driving demand for a new type of insurance talent,” said Jacobson. “With an already difficult labor market, attracting the talent required for success is increasingly challenging throughout the industry.”

The session “Compensation and Industry Hiring Practices,” scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on September 27, 2016, will provide an overview of significant operational and labor trends within the property and casualty vertical and an industry outlook for the next 12 months. It will also offer a perspective on pay practices for mutual insurers and a summary of major compensation changes for both executive and non-executive employees from the most recent NAMIC/Ward compensation study sponsored by The Jacobson Group.

As co-chief executive officer, Jacobson maintains shared leadership and management of the firm’s day-to-day operation and strategic direction. In addition to overseeing the organization, Jacobson manages select search assignments for the firm’s executive search practice. Jacobson is considered an expert on the insurance industry’s labor market and is an active participant in the insurance community, contributing to many industry association events and publications.
