CHICAGO – Succession planning is a vital component of a comprehensive talent strategy, yet many insurers are neglecting to make it a priority. Abbie Fleming, assistant vice president and managing director of The Jacobson Group, will discuss the importance of succession planning, as well as its best practices, at the Life Office Management Association’s Life Insurers Council CEO Forum in Alexandra, Virginia.
Joined by Stephen Lang, president of Lang Consulting, LLC, Fleming will share the current state of the industry’s talent landscape, along with top considerations for a well-thought-out succession plan. The presentation will take place from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Aug. 27.
“As Baby Boomers retire and executive-level positions become vacant at increasing speeds, it’s important for organizations to have solid succession plans in place,” said Fleming. “Our session will provide an overview of the process as well as the questions leaders should ask as they plan for the future.”
As assistant vice president and managing director of Jacobson, Fleming manages C-level, vice president and other executive-level searches for clients from all sectors of the insurance industry. She facilitates and drives all aspects of the executive search engagement, serving as primary point of contact for clients, and guiding the recruiting team’s efforts internally.
