Jacobson Shares the Importance of Ongoing Professional Development at IDMA’s Annual Conference

April 10, 2019

CHICAGO – In today’s evolving workplace, professionals must adopt new skill sets and attributes to stay relevant and competitive. It’s vital individuals take charge of their professional development and explore all possibilities for continuing education. Margaret Resce Milkint, managing partner of The Jacobson Group, will share insights and best practices for committing to professional development at the Insurance Data Management Association’s annual conference.

Milkint will join Amy Brener, director of The CAS institute; Bernice Purcell, associate dean, business at Holy Family University; and Anne-Marie Smith, vice president of education at EWSolutions, for “The Essential Need for Continuous Professional Development for Insurance Data Professionals.” The panel discussion will explore how insurance data professionals can take charge of their professional development through activities such as formal education, industry certifications and self-study. The event will take place on April 16 at 8:30 a.m. CDT in Chicago.

“While many organizations provide career development opportunities for their employees, it may not be exactly what an employee wants or needs to reach their long-term career goals,” said Milkint. “It is imperative individuals take ownership for their professional growth and explore all available opportunities.”

As managing partner of Jacobson, Milkint oversees executive management engagements across all industry verticals for the firm’s executive search practice. Her insurance-specific labor-market expertise is highly sought after, and she is regularly called on to share her insights with various industry associations and publications. Milkint co-founded the Women’s Insurance Networking Group, a platform for leading industry females to network and celebrate successes. She chairs the Million Women Mentors Women in Insurance Initiative. In addition, Margaret serves as the U.S. committee chair for the Insurance Supper Club, which provides a network and forum for senior-level women in the insurance industry on a global basis, and the U.S. co-chair of Dive In. She is also a proud trustee of The Actuarial Foundation and a champion for the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation’s Women in Insurance Conference Series.
