CHICAGO – The insurance industry is face-to-face with ground-breaking shifts that are overhauling traditional business models and operations. A focus on technology is impacting all levels and functional areas while an uptick in retiring professionals and an aging workforce are creating a growing skills gap within the industry. How can today’s professionals prepare for these changes in their current jobs? How can they further develop and get noticed? Margaret Resce Milkint, managing partner of The Jacobson Group, will answer these questions and more at an event for the Women’s Inclusion Network of Munich Reinsurance America in Princeton, New Jersey.
“From developing soft skills to cultivating leadership potential and establishing a personal network, today’s insurance professionals must navigate a number of hurdles,” said Milkint. “It is important they take the time to understand the marketplace and make intentional efforts to stay relevant as they move forward in their careers.”
Milkint will present “Career Development: How to Stay Relevant” on January 30, at 12:00 p.m. EST. The session will discuss the top skills employers look for in their employees and develop best practices for managing one’s career, including networking, development and personal branding.
As managing partner of Jacobson, Milkint oversees executive management engagements across all industry verticals for the firm’s executive search practice. Her insurance-specific labor-market expertise is highly sought after, and she is regularly called on to share her insights with various industry associations and publications. Milkint co-founded the Women’s Insurance Networking Group, a platform for leading industry females to network and celebrate successes. She chairs the Million Women Mentors Women in Insurance Initiative. In addition, Margaret serves as the U.S. committee chair for the Insurance Supper Club, which provides a network and forum for senior-level women in the insurance industry on a global basis, and the U.S. co-chair of Dive In. She is also a proud trustee of The Actuarial Foundation and a champion for the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation’s Women in Insurance Conference Series.
