Jacobson Explores Gender Equality at Million Women Mentors Summit and Awards Gala

October 17, 2018

CHICAGO – The insurance industry has made significant efforts to achieve gender equality in the workplace, but equal representation is still far from reality. A gender pay gap prevails and women still face significant difficulties rising to managerial and leadership roles. How can women support each other to ensure they are fully represented in the industry? Margaret Resce Milkint, managing partner of The Jacobson Group, will address these issues and more at the 2018 Million Women Mentor Summit & Awards Gala in Washington, D.C.

“Female professionals face many hurdles pursuing leadership positions in insurance,” said Milkint. “It is important the industry provides networking and mentorship platforms to encourage women to support one another and bring positive lasting changes to their organizations.”

Milkint will deliver the opening remarks and lead the question and answer session for “Building an Industry-Specific Mentoring Network” on October 26 at 11:00 a.m. EDT. Milkint will be joined by Catherine Lamson, senior vice president and chief administrative officer for MEMIC; Maroun Mourad, ISO commercial lines president for Verisk; and Carol Zacharias, counsel for QBE Insurance. The workshop will discuss the current state of gender equality in the insurance industry and highlight opportunities and best practices for women to support each other’s journey to career success.

As managing partner of Jacobson, Milkint oversees executive management engagements across all industry verticals for the firm’s executive search practice. Her insurance-specific labor-market expertise is highly sought after, and she is regularly called on to share her insights with various industry associations and publications. Milkint co-founded the Women’s Insurance Networking Group, a platform for leading industry females to network and celebrate successes. She chairs the Million Women Mentors Women in Insurance Initiative.  In addition, Margaret serves as the U.S. committee chair for the Insurance Supper Club, which provides a network and forum for senior-level women in the insurance industry on a global basis, and the U.S. co-chair of Dive In. She is also a proud trustee of The Actuarial Foundation and a champion for the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation’s Women in Insurance Conference Series.
