Jacobson to Explore the Future of Talent in Data Analytics

CHICAGO – The rise of big data and the increasingly tight labor market are driving industry-wide concerns about the ability to attract, retain and develop data analysts and data managers. Data is a significant part of ongoing industry innovation, which makes effectively finding and developing data-focused professionals a business imperative. Margaret Resce Milkint, managing partner of The Jacobson Group, will speak on a panel about the future state of insurance data professionals at the Insurance Data Management Association (IDMA) 2017 Annual Meeting and Seminar in Chicago.

“We are in the age of analytics, and being able to hire and then develop strong data analysts and managers will be a powerful factor in determining future success,” said Milkint. “With an industry-wide labor shortage and high demand for analytics professionals, now is the time for insurers to revisit how they grow analytics talent.”

Milkint will be speaking on the panel “Our Future Data Analysts/Data Managers: Ages and Stages – Gen-X, Millennials and Baby Boomers,” on May 1, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. This panel will include Bill Tarinelli, Head of University Relations for Business Intelligence and Data Management at Travelers, and Jason Panicker, Senior Business Analyst for Strategic Data Operations at ISO. Kevin O’Leary, Second Vice President of Claim Business Intelligence and Analytics Data Management at Travelers and incoming IDMA president, will moderate the panel. The session will focus on hiring practices and company programs designed to help develop data professionals’ skills. In addition, the panel will discuss the ways in which universities are grooming future data analysts and managers.
