Jacobson Volunteers Participate in IICF Week of Giving Event

CHICAGO – The Jacobson Group, the leading global provider of insurance talent, is proud to announce its participation in the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation’s (IICF) recent Week of Giving event. On Thursday, October 16, 2014, ten volunteers from Jacobson visited Chicago’s Harold Washington Library to volunteer as part of the IICF’s Every Day is a Reading and Writing Day initiative. Together with local children and families, the volunteers participated in interactive Sesame Street games, videos and activities designed to encourage children and the adults in their lives to read and write together.

Taking place October 11-18, IICF’s Week of Giving brings together thousands of insurance professionals from across the nation to support local nonprofits through volunteer service and personal giving. This year, IICF designated the Sesame Workshop—the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street—as its Week of Giving beneficiary. Together, IICF and the Sesame Workshop introduced a new and innovative early literacy program—Every Day is a Reading and Writing Day—to reach the most vulnerable and underserved children, aged 0-5, and their families.
